The new FRAXEL RE:STORE DUAL is an improvemnet on the gold standard non-ablative laser Fraxel. Solta Medical has now paired the deep penetrating Erbium fiber laser (1550nm) with the superficial Thulium fiber laser (1927nm). Fraxel is an example of a micro fractionated laser. That means the laser pulses are microscopic (much smaller than the Active FX laser pulses). Approximately 20% of the the surface is treated at one time. The recovery is very rapid, generally 2 to 3 days and consists of some puffiness and redness. Make up can be applied immediately. A series of 3 to 5 treatments several weeks apart is recommended.

Fraxel re:store is very versatile and can be used to treat face, neck, hands, chest, back, abdomen…literally any area of the body. It is FDA approved for the treatment of melasma, sun damage, wrinkles and scars. Acne scars respond very well as do raised surgical scars. Even stretch marks respond well to repeated treatments (I like to combine Thermage skin tightening with Fraxel for post-baby stretch marks).
